A Day of Real Work That Matters
Bring your team to Thunder Gardens, a regenerative community farm 20 minutes east of downtown Ottawa. Your people work side by side, learn something new, and leave knowing they grew food for neighbours who need it. Every task is explained, demonstrated, and guided by our growers, so everyone can jump in. This season, teams weeded and mulched our garlic beds, raced around the farm on a scavenger hunt, and had a great time doing it.
Grow food that feeds neighbours
Plant, tend, and harvest alongside our growers. The food your team grows supports local food programs and community members.
Pack fresh food for the community
From June 2027, wash and pack produce at our new wash-pack station, ready for local food programs.
Scavenger hunt
Split into teams and explore the gardens, fields, and pollinator meadows on our farm scavenger hunt. It was a big hit with our teams this year.
Meet the farm
Visit our honeybees, heritage turkeys, and laying hens, and learn how each one supports a healthy farm.
Restore the land
Help care for 400+ native trees and shrubs and our pollinator meadows, part of our ongoing ecological restoration work.

Facilitated Training, Rooted in Nature
Pair your farm day with a facilitated session led by Jay Smith. Jay holds a Master of Adult Education, taught and coordinated programs at Algonquin College, and has spent years designing learning for public service teams. He is also a TEDx speaker on what nature teaches us about healing. Sessions are practical, reflective, and built around your goals. A facilitated session is included in the Harvest package and can be added to Sprout or Grow.
Team connection and communication

Resilience and wellbeing
